The pesky necessities of life, it seems, have caught up with me.

Professional life, at least.

The 9-to-6 job has suddenly made it a lot more difficult to get any kind of serious writing done for the last few weeks, I’m afraid. A necessary evil, however.

The most frustrating part of it all? I am so close to finishing the first draft of Book 3! This will be, by far, the most complex of the entire series. Several major plotlines running in parallel, the entirety of the characters’ narrative arcs developing and converging, several major plot resolutions and all new enemies… All this in about 265.000 words.

What a beast of a book. I must be out of my mind.

And yet, there is so much to tell in this one. The journey undertaken by these characters – beyond life and death, to the metaphysical and beyond, all driven by this oh-so-precious spark of love in the darkness – resonates within me with as much force as it did when I first started drafting this story. Hopefully, it will with you too.

Where was I? Ah, yes. Planning.

Initially, I had hoped to finish all 4 books before going back to the first one for the second draft and editing. But real life is now forcing me to change my plans. As such, I think I will finish Book 3, lay out the entire, detailed plot for Book 4 – do not fear, the story has an amazing end, which I have in mind since the very beginning – and then come back to Book 1 for draft 2. Once I am happy with Book 1, it will go through the editing process, then self-publishing.

Needless to say, there is still some way to go. But I will get there.

No doubt about it.
